Lydia Smith

My name is Lydia Smith. I have lived in Kaysville my whole life. I am the youngest of four girls. The oldest, Sierra, is student teaching and will graduate in December. Cambree is on a mission in Seattle Washington. Lexie is a senior at Farmington High. Both of my parents work at Snow Horse Elementary. My mom is the head secretary and my dad is the head custodian. We have a cat, Ginger, who does silly things and loves hair ties. I love nature. I love to be outside. I want to be a Park Ranger when I grow up.

I an in 9th grade at Centennial Jr. high. I have gone there for all three years of Jr. high. I enjoy the environment, and the teachers at the school. I like to learn new things. My favorite subject is art.

My favorites:

My favorite candies are Reese’s peanut butter cups, sour gummy worms, and mini M&M’s because mini M&M’s are better than normal M&M’s.

I love Disney movies. My favorite Disney movie would have to be Aladdin. I have seen the new one twice in theater and I will probably see it again. The original is better but the live action is pretty close. I once watched the original everyday for a week before my mom said I needed to do something else in my life.

My favorite snacks are pretzel sticks. The sticks are the best kind.

My favorite treat is ice cream. I like most flavors but moose tracks and Tilamook ice cream is pretty good.

My favorite day of the week is Wednesday. It is the best day because Monday is Monday, Tuesday is crazy, Thursday you’re just waiting for the week to be over, and Friday is just a day closer to Monday. I came up with the idea of ice cream Wednesday and I celebrate every week.

My favorite drink is lemonade. It is the best. Sometimes when I drink it I go crazy my friends say I get “lemonade drunk”

Travel:

This summer we went to Jackson Hole Wyoming. My grandparents are working there this summer on the Elk refuge. We saw the Bar J wranglers. They were so fun. We also did a scenic float trip on the Snake river.

Last summer we went to the Oregon Coast. We spent one day in Portland and the rest on the coast. We saw and did amazing things.

Hobbies:

I love art. I like to draw, color and paint with watercolors. I have taken art 1, 2 and an taking 3D art next semester.

I play Guitar. I have played for almost three years. I go to a shop in Clearfield where my teacher rents a room (well it’s more of a closet, it’s super small). I was borrowing a guitar from a family friend, but I got my own guitar in March. His name is Gary.

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
